  1. When using the SIJ-24 and SLR-24 smoke detectors with the AUTOPULSE® 442R or 442D control systems, which detector bases should be used?
The correct bases are the NS6-224 (Ansul Part No. 427595) and the NS4-224 (Ansul part numbers 427596).

  2. Are the SIJ-24 and SLR-24 detectors compatible with the older HSB-220, HSB-21 and HS-21D detector bases?
    Yes.

  3. Which Analog Addressable smoke detectors replace the CPX-551 Ionization and SDX-551 Photoelectric smoke detectors? Which detector bases should be use?
The low profile FSI-751 Ionization (Ansul Part No. 428090) and FSP-751 Photoelectric (Ansul Part No. 428091) smoke detectors.

The B710LP detector base, Ansul Part No. 423944, or the B501 detector base, Ansul Part No. 417487, should be used. If using an existing BX-501 detector base, it will be necessary to use the F110 retrofit trim ring to accommodate the low profile detectors. The F110 retrofit trim ring is Ansul Part No. 428138.

  4. Can the four Notification Appliance Circuits, (Bell/NAC), on the AUTOPULSE® IQ-396X control systems be used as Release circuits?
Yes. Simply assign the Bell/NAC circuit a Type Code label of "Release ckt." and map that circuit to the appropriate releasing software zone. An In-line supervisory device should be installed in series with the releasing device. Please note: This operation is not recommended for the AUTOPULSE® IQ-301, due to the possibility that electrostatic discharge could cause an unwanted activation of the Bell/NAC circuits located on the control board (See Product Services Bulletin 4555 for more information).

  5. What listings and approvals do the AUTOPULSE® control systems carry?
UL, FMRC, CSFM and MEA. The 220VAC models also carry CE approval. The AUTOPULSE® IQ-301 also carries USCG approval when installed with Ansul supplied drip shield. Ansul also offers ULC listed systems for use in Canada.
